Maintenance Helper
Job Description
Reporting to the Production Support Manager, the incumbent is responsible in performing basic maintenance tasks of plant work centers (CNC) and other equipment. Based on equipment needs and maintenance schedule, he prepares consumables for work centers. The maintenance assistant has a responsibility in maximizing CNC work centers reliability and uptime.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and conduct regularly scheduled plant tour to refill coolant and oil and pick up metal chips;
- Communicate on a regular basis with operators and enquire about potential special requirements regarding short-term maintenance of equipment (oil, coolant, chips etc.);
- Dispose properly of metal chips and oil collected during plant tour while avoiding interruptions of operating work centers;
- Report work centers general operating and maintenance issues and material conflicts to Managers promptly;
- Prepare in advance water and coolant;
- Conduct basic corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as required (i.e. assist maintenance craftsmen in urgent corrective actions, conduct cleaning, inspections and lubrication on CNC machines);
Job qualifications
- 1 to 3 years in maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication and organizational skills
- CNC machine knowledge (an asset)
- Bilingual (French and English)
