Senior Financial Analyst ( Maternity leave 12 months)

Job Description

Under the direction of the President, the financial analyst is part of the executive team and advises on any improvement aimed at increasing the profitability of the various services, the achievement of the company strategic objectives and the effectiveness of the financial control systems. He/She is also responsible for the internal reporting and treasury management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting inventory (Maintain system and the general ledger structure);
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounting team;
  • Prepare and review various internal financial reports (journal entries, bank reconciliations, subleger GL reconciliations, month-ends etc.)  
  • Plan, coordinate and complete year-end audit requirements, including the management of yearend audit information;          
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reports for the shareholders;
  • Review the monthly profit margins of products sold;
  • Ensure cash flow and currency requirements;
  • Prepare for and manage financial statement audits, including tax provisions and coordination with external auditors;
  • Act as a support to the president and the treasurer in the relations with the insurance and banks;
  • Support and advise senior management regarding financial decisions, ongoing operating activities and strategic decisions;

Job qualifications

  • Post secondary degree in business, accounting or finance;
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in a similar position; 
  • CPA designation is an asset;
  • Experience in analysis of financial information is essential;
  • Strong computer skills with MS office, databases and ERP systems;
  • Competency in supervising an accounting team;
  • Bilingual (French/English)
