Continuous improvement specialist

The continuous improvement engineer will lead the planning, direction and coordination of manufacturing techniques and provide justifications for alternate methods to reduce costs. This individual would conduct cycle time analysis to verify current production rates and target potential improvements. He/She would also work with the productions teams to improve the working environment and product throughput. He/She would serve as a change agent and drive a business transformation plan which would result in waste elimination and improve manufacturing processes.

• Play a key role in the development of a centralized C.I plan;
• Implement Lean manufacturing tools : 5S , VSM, SMED etc.
• Work to engage employees and overcome resistance to the changes in their everyday duties;
• Promote and facilitate work flow analysis and set out the standards for the employees in order to achieve the target goals;
• Manage the gold supplier program;
• Work in collaboration with upper management and maintenance dept. to define floor layouts when integrating new machines;

• Bachelors in Industrial engineering (completed);
• Must have 3 to 5 years pertinent experience (other than internship experience) in a manufacturing environment,
• Expertise with lean manufacturing tools (5S, VSM, SMED);
• Ability to create and provide CI + Lean training for all hierarchical levels;
• Must have project management skills;
• Must be dynamic and have excellent interpersonal skills;
• Bilingual ( French and English)
