Director of Quality

Operating within an AS9100 environment, we are seeking a hands-on and operationally minded Director of Quality capable of operating both strategically and operationally within a dynamic, evolving aerospace manufacturing SME environment. 

This role is ideal for a proven leader who is comfortable being close to operations, supporting teams directly when required, while also driving structure, accountability, customer confidence, and continuous improvement across the Quality function. 

Success in this position requires strong operational credibility, sound decision-making, and the ability to influence within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

• Ensure effective management of quality systems, audits, non-conformances, corrective actions, and customer quality requirements within daily operations  

• Lead, support, and oversee the Quality team, including QA team members and inspectors  

• Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and internal quality processes  

• Partner closely with Production, Methods, Supply Chain, and leadership teams to support operational performance and product quality  

• Develop and maintain structure, visibility, and accountability through KPIs and performance monitoring  

• Support and mentor team members while fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented culture  

• Identify operational gaps and implement realistic, sustainable improvements aligned with business priorities  

• Contribute to strategic discussions while remaining connected to day-to-day manufacturing realities
