Director of Quality

Job Description

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for leading the company’s quality function and ensuring the effectiveness, compliance, and performance of the Quality Management System across all operations.

Reporting to the President, this role defines and drives the QA/QC strategy, establishes performance objectives and KPIs, and ensures consistent execution at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Quality management

  • Lead and oversee the QA/QC function across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100 / AS13100) and customer requirements
  • Oversee audits, non-conformances, corrective actions, and risk management
  • Maintain and strengthen core quality processes (FMEA, control plans, calibration, MRB, document control)
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality system requirements
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of quality processes
  • Analyze performance data, identify trends and gaps, and implement appropriate actions
  • Develop reports and dashboards and present performance insights to executive team
  • Act as the key liaison between Quality and other departments (production, engineering, CI, etc.)
Team leadership
  • Lead, structure, and develop the QA/QC team (engineers, inspectors, specialists)
  • Set expectations, manage performance, and provide ongoing guidance
  • Coordinate training, knowledge transfer, and competency development
  • Support recruitment and succession planning within the quality team

Job qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in quality leadership in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality or related field 
  • ​Proven experience leading quality teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality systems (AS9100 / AS13100)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyze data and support decision-making
  • Bilingual (French/English – spoken and written)
**English is required for this position due to regular communication with customers, suppliers, and partners, as well as the nature of technical documentation used in the aerospace industry.
