Director, Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence
Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence to join our executive team. Reporting directly to the President, the incumbent will be responsible for defining business and operational strategies in quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and continuous improvement (CI) within the company. They will lead multidisciplinary teams and play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage current and future ISO certification programs;
- Develop, enhance, and maintain the quality system, processes, policies, and procedures in accordance with company standards;
- Develop company policies and anticipate medium to long-term evolutions in quality and continuous improvement strategy;
- Lead the implementation of standardized best practices in quality and quality control;
- Ensure the management of non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions;
- Work closely with the operational excellence team to identify and implement Lean initiatives;
- Foster a culture of change and continuous improvement within the organization.
Job qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field;
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role;
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards;
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint);
- Experience in coaching Lean Sigma / Lean manufacturing techniques;
- Ability to plan, organize, lead, and control;
- Diplomacy and tact in interpersonal relationships;
- Leadership and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams;
- Ability to influence, strategic thinking, and analytical skills;
- Bilingual (French / English).
