First Piece Inspector - CMM
Job Description
Under the responsibility of the head of the Quality Department, the first parts inspector will be responsible for the inspection and approval of the first parts machined before the start of production.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect first parts—Approval of all initial parts machined by CNC operators/machinist;
- Perform final inspection of complex parts;
- Measure the parts with manual instruments (Vernier and micrometer) and ensure all dimensions meet the requirements of the operation sheets and/ or Engineering drawings;
- Operate a CMM;
- Complete NCR form.
Job qualifications
- Technical diploma in machining techniques or any combination of technical training and relevant experience;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role;
- Experience working with a CMM (Mitutoyo and Zeiss);
- Bilingualism French and English (Ability to read and interpret English work instructions);
- Available to work on an Evening Shift;
- Evening shift: 2:30pm to 10:30pm – Additional $2 premium per hour
