Human resources technician

Job Description

Reporting to the director of human resources, the HR technician is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the completion of daily activities in order to help with the proper functioning of the department.  He/She acts as a support to employees and managers on the application of human resources policies and programs 

Responsibilities

Recruitment cycle management:  
  • Posting vacancies, as well as drafting job offers;
  • Sort candidate applications;
  • Conduct phone interviews and make recommendations on potential candidates;
  • Assist managers in face-to-face interviews and give hiring recommendations;
  • Conduct reference checks 
  • Draft job offer letters and employment contracts;
  • Coordinate orientation sessions for new employees with managers;
Human Resources Management Support:
  • Participate in the organization and management of various events, activities, celebrations and information sessions for employees;
  • Assist the HRD in doing the follow-up for various procedures (vacations, performance evaluations, recognition program, code of conduct, health and safety, etc.);
  • Maintain employee records (opening new files, print/scan/filing documents, lists of employees etc.);
  • Prepare and submit the required forms and reports for payroll;
  • Draft necessary documents/letters required by employees (safety boots, confirmations of employment, etc.)
  • Update monthly data for HR performance indicators (turnover rate, employee headcount etc.)

Job qualifications

  • Must have a diploma in human resources management or any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant;
  • Must have a least 6 months of experience in a similar position;
  • Good knowledge of MS office ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
  • Bilingual ( French and English)
