Intern- Robotics and Automation
Job Description
The robotics and automation intern supports the implementation of advanced manufacturing and robotics projects to enhance production efficiency. The role involves researching automation solutions, analyzing manufacturing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project execution.
Responsibilities
Advanced manufacturing
- Monitor ongoing manufacturing projects, track system performance, and report issues to the development team;
- Conduct data analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance manufacturing workflows;
- Research and evaluate automation solutions and auxiliary equipment for CNC/CMM applications to enhance existing manufacturing processes;
- Assist in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of manufacturing projects;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project progress, provide updates, and support continuous improvement efforts
- Support the implementation and optimization of robotic systems, including Waybo-okuma and mobile cobots;
- Explore robotic programming and control systems to ensure seamless integration with manufacturing workflows;
- Assist in codebase reviews, identifying issues, and provide technical support for resolution
- Collect and analyze data robotic system data to assess performance, identify trends, and suggest improvements;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the integration of robotic solutions into manufacturing processes and support project execution.
Job qualifications
- Familiarity with automation or robotics through internships or projects is an asset;
- Familiarity with robotics programming and control systems (e.g., Python, C++) is an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite (Word excel, power point);
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking;
- Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate communication with suppliers and partners;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
Education
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics
