Job Description
As a junior purchasing clerk reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of all consumable products required for production. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless supply chain by adhering to established standards and procedures. This position is designed for individuals looking to build their experience in supply chain management and procurement.
Responsibilities
- Compile purchase requests for production consumables;
- Prepare and secure authorization for purchase orders in accordance with company standards;
- Place orders with approved suppliers and meet delivery requirements set by internal customers;
- Track purchase orders and shipments to address any delivery issues swiftly;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable pricing, and ensure compliance with industry standards;
- Manage order follow-ups and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services;
- Identify potential procurement issues, devise solutions, and collaborate with the supervisor to minimize production impact;
- Maintain precise data in the ERP system, ensuring it reflects current prices, dates, and quantities;
Job qualifications
- College diploma in Purchasing or procurement.
- Minimum 1 year of a similar experience in the manufacturing sector;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of an integrated management system (ERP) is an asset;
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required
