Specialist - Human resources and labor relations ( senior profile / maternity leave replacement/ 10 months contract)

Job Description

Reporting to the general manager, the HR & Labor relations specialist will act as an advisory role to management and supervisors regarding their daily needs and challenges in terms of personnel management, change management, crisis management, management of disciplinary measures and relations with employees, including internal communication of the above.


  • Work in close collaboration with the general manager , on specific projects and/or files related to organizational development and communication;
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and provincial human resources legislation and requirements;
  • Listening, solving and advising the problems of employees and supervisors;
  • Intervene in situations that put the work environment at risk and manage complaints in a confidential manner, respecting individuals, laws and organizational policies;
  • In collaboration with the management team, participate in the development of short and medium term strategies to meet the objectives and anticipate future needs related to the strategic vision of the company;
  • Support the delivery and deployment of HR programs and processes, such as performance management, compensation structure , succession planning;
  • Support the delivery and deployment of actions from the francization plan;
  • Management of disciplinary files in collaboration with managers;
  • Management of access and profiles of new employees;
  • Management of payroll processing and termination of employment;
  • Management of group benefits plan (memberships);
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with other team members to resolve any human resources or health & safety issues as well as to help improve operations in general;

Job qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 to 9 years of relevant experience in the field of Human resources and/or organizational development;
  • Experience in organizational development, or in the manufacturing or aerospace industry;
  • Bachelors degreee in HR Management, industrial relations or any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant;
  • Understanding of the legal context, including laws, regulations, case law and public policy, in relation to labor standards;
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with different stakeholders;
  • Have a strong ability to work in a team and to deal with sometimes delicate or unexpected situations;
  • Understanding of payroll processing cycle and management of social benefits;
  • Perfectly bilingual (French and English)
