Tool Calibration Technician

Job Description

Under the responsibility of the head of the Quality department, the Tool Calibration technician will be responsible for establishing test and measurement procedures, calibrating, maintaining, and setting-up of the test equipment for production purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate measuring instruments (in house and external) such as:
  • Basic dimensional measuring instruments (Verniers, micrometers, indicators, etc.);
  • Tightening tools (Torque, bore gauges, ID and OD gauges etc.);
  • Pressure gauges
  • Monitor and inspect routinely the calibration equipment to validate the performance of the tools;
  • Perform the required test in equipment to verify the accuracy and to ensure that it meets the required standard specifications;
  • Complete required documentation of inspection routines and test installations to ensure that the calibration is done in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance of equipment;
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform equipment upgrades or repairs of the equipment;
  • Prepare and complete compliance and quality report forms.

Job qualifications

  • Diploma in mechanical engineering or any other combination of training in metrology and relevant experience;
  • 3-5 years of experience in instrument calibration in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments;
  • Computer and software tools efficiency (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Available to work in the morning shift: 7:15 am- 03:15 pm
