Tool Calibration Technician
Job Description
Under the responsibility of the head of the Quality department, the tool calibration technician will be responsible for establishing test and measurement procedures, calibrating, maintaining, and setting-up of the test equipment for production purposes.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and prepare the tools for production (e.g., bore gauges, mueller gauges, etc.) in accordance with work instructions and APS sheets;
- Perform calibration of in-house measuring instruments, including:
- Basic dimensional measuring instruments (Verniers, micrometers, indicators, etc.);
- Tightening tools (Torque, bore gauges, ID/OD gauges etc.);
- Pressure gauges
- Manage the calibration schedule and records for externally calibrated measuring instruments;
- Conduct routine monitoring and inspection of calibration equipment to validate the performance of the tools;
- Perform required testing on equipment to verify the accuracy and ensure adherence to the required standard specifications;
- Complete required documentation of inspection routines and test installations to ensure that the calibration is performing in accordance with established timelines and quality standards;
- Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance of equipment;
- Prepare and complete quality and compliance report forms in accordance with internal procedures.
Job qualifications
- Diploma in mechanical engineering or any other combination of training in metrology and relevant experience;
- 3-5 years of experience in instrument calibration in a similar position;
- Knowledge of ISO-9001 or AS-9100C is an asset;
- Knowledge of measuring instruments;
- Computer and software tools efficiency (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
- Bilingual (French/English)
- Available to work in the morning shift: 7:15 am-03:15 pm
