Job Description

Under the supervision of the supply chain manager, the production planner is responsible for the short, medium and long term planning process. He/she defines the need for raw materials, outsourcing, direct labor based on demand and plans the manufacturing capacity while maintaining an optimal inventory level. His/her functions place him/her at the meeting point of the customers and the various departments of the organization, including sales and contracts, methods, sourcing, production, production support, customer service and logistics. He must work closely with management of the company to understand the constraints and commitments. 

  

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present to management the manufacturing capacity requirements in the medium and long term;
  • Set up and monitor the sales and production master plan (S & OP);
  • Develop the master monthly production schedule;
  • Ensure the launch of manufacturing batches, purchase requisitions and direct labor hiring;
  • Control inventory levels to eliminate gaps and surpluses in order to achieve adequate rotation;

Job qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations and production management (GOP)
• Have at least 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar position and in the manufacturing industry (aeronautics or aerospace industry experience is an asset);
• Strong knowledge of management systems such as MRP and ERP;
• Bilingual: French and English (spoken and written).

** A ''APICS CPIM'' or CSCP certification is a highly regarded asset.
