Sourcing Manager

Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager, the sourcing manager identifies strategic partners and delivers improved products and lower costs to the organization through supplier management, strategic sourcing, commodity management, and total cost principles. The Sourcing Manager will also further ensure adherence to Leesta Industries’ procurement policies and procedures, and work collaboratively with departments across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending,
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies,
  • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure,
  • Optimize sourcing procedure to attain maximum efficiency,
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking,
  • Develop and secure long term contract/agreement with vendors,
  • Estimate risks and apply risk mitigation techniques,
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries,
  • Work closely with cross-functional departments (Financial, Quality Assurance, accounts payable etc.) to understand strategic directions and goals of the company,
  • Regularly research material, product innovation and market intelligence optimizing sourcing opportunities,
  • Research, identify and develop sourcing markets and vendors that meet both product requirements and company policies,
  • Review vendor/agent performance metrics and make recommendations for improvement, as necessary.

Job qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a sourcing manager or procurement manager. Experience in an Aerospace manufacturing company is an asset,
  • University Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration. Procurement Certification (PMAC/SCMP) is an asset,
  • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to reconcile conflicting service and financial requirements,
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, import regulations, competitive bidding, market conditions, general contract terms and conditions is required,
  • Expert proficiency in Excel (complex Excel formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems. Knowledge of Infor Visual system is an asset,
  • 5%-10% travel required including international travel,
  • Effective interpersonal and project leadership skills,
  • Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and be proactive when resolving issues,
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills,
  • Perfectly fluent in both English and French (Spoken and written).
